Loganberry is crossbred of raspberry and blackberry. Although it has the color of raspberry but has a tart taste like a blackberry, it won’t be wrong to call it a sweet accident, when a horticulturist and judge, James Harvey Logan was not happy with the taste of blackberries and in his personal space tried to cross two blackberries aside an old raspberry. An unintentional accident happened, and both of the plants got involved and crossed each other, producing Loganberry in 1881. Rather than fruit, it is most commonly known and used as a loganberry drink, which is refreshing and non-carbonated. In appearance, they are slightly different from raspberries as loganberries are larger, softer, and darker. However, they both look alike, but tayberry is more challenging to harvest because of its sharp thorns leaves around the berries, which has made the harvesting at commercial level unsuitable. Whereas loganberries are grown conveniently for commercial use, and tayberries are limited to home gardens.
